ThermoStabilized Tunable Etalon

ThermoStabilized Tunable Etalon (TSTE), has a monolithic cylindrical design and is made of fused quartz by KV brand. The flat end faces of etalon are made with parallelism no worse than 5 arc seconds, with a reflective coating applied to them with a reflection coefficient about 95÷97%. These parameters provide finesse of etalon (ratio of the free spectral range (FSR) to hardware width of etalon) at level of 40÷70.
Etalons are produced two lengths — 10.3 mm and 5.2 mm, which, taking into account the refractive index of fused quartz, provides FSR of 10 GHz and 20 GHz, respectively.
The product includes a Peltier micro-cooler, which allows adjustment temperature of etalon in the range 10÷30 °C. Changing temperature by several degrees is sufficient to retune frequency mode of etalon over entire range of FSR. The full range of supply voltage on the piezoceramic ring allows to frequency of etalon mode to be tuned by approximately one third of the FSR.
The device is supplied with a universal controller ULDC032, which can also be used for control any interferometer, which provides the ability to scan, control and maintain its temperature. In addition to the high-voltage amplifier providing work of piezoelectric shifter, a universal controller has a module for adjustment thermoelectric micro-cooler.
