Gas Filled Cells

We offer atomic cells made of S-52 electrovacuum molybdenum glass and Simax borosilicate glass. Both have a low coefficient of thermal expansion. During manufacture, all cells undergo chemical cleaning and vacuum degassing at a temperature of 350°C to remove the pollutants dissolved in the glass. The filling of the cells with alkali metals and buffer gases occurs at a pressure of residual gases in a vacuum chamber of 10–7Torr. All cells are helium leak checked and can be filled up:

  1. Cesium (133Cs)
  2. Rubidium (Rb), natural mixture, 72.15% 85Rb, 27.85% 87Rb
  3. Enhanced Rubidium, 87Rb 98,7%
  4. Enhanced Rubidium, 85Rb 99,8%
Additionally, cells can be filled with a buffer gas or a mixture of gases of the required pressure and ratio:

  1. Nitrogen (N2), 99,9999%
  2. Argon (Ar), 99,9995%
  3. Neon (Ne), 99,998%
  4. Xenon (Xe), 99,9997%

Molybdenum glass C-52. Cells are made of cylindrical glass tubes with a diameter of 20mm. The length of the cells is specified when ordering. It is possible to manufacture spherical cells of the required diameter.
Simax. The cells are made of cylindrical tubes with a diameter of 5 mm or 8 mm and tubes of square section with a side of 6.5 mm.
It is possible to manufacture custom cells of other sizes and geometry.
